Puzzles

You told her you loved puzzles
so she left a box at your doorstep –
Yours and everyone else she loved
and told you they contained
pieces of herself.
So you built,
tried to piece things together
overnight only to discover
pieces missing.
You put your boxes on the table –
you and everyone she loved,
trading secrets,
finding missing pieces.
Still, it was incomplete;
there were pieces she’d hidden.
Some, even from herself.
So I guess no one gets to solve this puzzle
and maybe that’s okay.

  1. Your writing is absolutely superb! I’d love it if you could view the first post on my blog and leave your link in the Comments. The way you write and bring the story to life is just incredible, and you deserve to get noticed. ๐Ÿ™‚ I know I probably seem so illegitimate right now, but I don’t know how else to put it. ๐Ÿ˜›

    Wonderful work,
